Default For a bulb!!!

OK I'm not really bitc---- but I happen to notice that my 3rd brakelight was out just above the license plate on my 86 vert, so naturally it required immediate attention, after taking off the gas filler door, the inside gasket and the license plate I could finally see it, I remove the 2 10mm nuts holding it in - take it apart and Volla there's the bulbs -3 of them so off to the parts store I go, first nobody has these suckers but I finally find them at Advance or 1 that is, the search continues to Autozone they have 2 ahhh so now I have 3, oh they look like a dash board bulb but I guess there halogen so $7 each. So 3 bulbs + tax about $23. and about 3 hours of running around an hour or so of dis-assemble and assemble and no problem 3rd brake light is shining. Man I love this car.

Well, if it makes you feel better, the high -mount 3rd brake light isn't much fun to access either. Have to replace 2 of the bulbs in it. Paid a little more than $ 7, as I ordered them from Mid America (with a much of other parts, so the shipping didn't change). Only thing I saved was the running around. Yeah, you have to love older cars...parts stores only carry 1 on their racks, when you are going to need more. Glad you got yours all set!

I knew it was going to be a brake light bulb before I even opened the thread.

The high brake lights on an 87. $2.50 at NAPA, but you will have to order them. They don't stock them , at least in the store that is located near me.

I won't be buying any more expensive lamps for my high stoplight in my 87, high brightness red LED's do the job and will outlive me.
