Default 1984 crossfire

When I let my '84 sit for some time I have a very hard time starting it. After many cranks it will finally start, but after what I think takes a really long time it finally gets enough gas to start. Once I get it started it is not a problem for the rest of the day. I am really tired dealing with it so I would appreciate some help.

I had a very similar problem and it was the ECM. It would take a lot of cranking before it finally started. But my problem was even present after the engine was only shut off for 5 minutes. Replaced the ECM. Problem fixed!

To me it sounds more of a priming issue. When the engine is cold and you turn the key do your hear the pump prime for 2 seconds? I'd say start there and follow your fuel system first.

When was the last time you changed the fuel filter? Another thing to check is the fuel sock in the tank. It does sound like you are not getting enough fuel.

Don't forget about the CTS sensor in the front of the manifold. This is the number one culprit for cold start issues with Crossfires.
