Hello. Thought Id pass this on about my policy at the insurance company.
If you only need Liability coverage for yourself try the OPERATORS policy it covers you as a driver and not the car. So you can own 10 cars and drive any one at any time and be covered, and pay 1 price.
I pay 48.00 a month and own 5 cars.
Only avail threw Sentry insurance. Any level of coverage is avail.

I've never seen an "Operators" Policy provide any Coverage for the vehicle you're operating - maybe something has changed? Most of these are written for Liability only and often as excess to any other Coverage on the car.

Yes its liability only. But you pick the limit of coverage as far as amount,
mine tops out at 300,000. but i just carry the minimum.
Call around and insure 2 cars for minimum liability see what you get.
My company is called dairyland insurance abd its a division of sentry.
I have saved enough over the years to cover the cost of this car twice over. Might want to call

In today's litigious world, why would you carry only the minimum liability (in my state that's like $20,000)? If you manage to run into a Porsche or high dollar Mercedes, with minimum limits the insurance company will throw in the policy (i.e. pay the $20,000) and leave you on your own to deal with the excess liability. If the total damage is say, $75,000, the insurance company pays their $20,000 and you have to come up with the extra $55k.
And, God forbid you should run into a school bus and send 25 or 30 of those little urchins to the ER.
I hate to pay those insurance premiums as much as any one, but I don't want to lose my house if the brakes on my car fail.

Just my $0.02
Well to each his own. I drive for a living independent contractor stuff.
I am on the road 8hrs a day. This insurance is for liability only. if you finance your cars you are out of luck. My moto of you cant pay cash, I don't get it. I don't pay interest on deprecation and then full coverage on top of that. I pay 600 a year with my operators policy.
Ive contacted other insurance agency's and have been quoted 2000 for the same coverage. Thats the point im making. Its worked well and will continue to work well. if you want 300,000 in coverage you may need its available. This operators policy covers only the driver not the car
I was in the insurance company's office and almost fell out of the chair when i heard what people are paying for coverage.

First of all, you're an idiot. It's a non-owners policy. So If you try to make a claim, the company will not cover you if you own the vehicles. The policy is for people who do not own a vehicle, but are required to have insurance to get their Drivers License back

Well your misinformed research before opening you big mouth.

Must have hit a nerve there. Well the fact is and operators policy is an effective way to cover 1 driver for multiple cars trucks whatever.
It is liability only. So your car isnt covered just your actions. Ive had to claims on this policy with excellent results. its served me well for 18 years.
I own 5 cars. I can drive any one at any time for 1 low payment.
I called Other insurance companys here in Las vegas and got quotes of over 1700$.
Like i said i got the vette for free.
Call Dairyland, 1-800-334-0090. I was out of line with the idiot thing, but he's not covered.
I have a policy and my wife has a policy. Between us we can drive any or all cars and be covered. Much less then a "Package deal" I don't spend Big bucks on cars so I go threw many. This beats getting coverage for every new car. You will assigned a Fleet number. For the DMV. Please do call dairyland. Ive had several people thank me for the tip.

Well this is how good the coverage is. I rented a brand new sports car from a local budget or something. Well like a complete fool I fell asleep at the wheel and totaled the rental car and causing big time damage to the car I hit. Also injured the passenger in the other car.
The operators policy covered all medical and damage to the other car.
Cost out of my pocket? =$00.00 I had a damage waiver on the rental Best 10.00 i ever spent 30,000 plus car.
I had another incident with a car I own another claim 7500.00 they covered. Dairyland.
48.00 a month = 576.00 a year. I pay 548.00 a year now for my C4.
I pay $600 for each vette and I'm happy with my $300,000 liability.

Why would you only want the minimum? For as cheap as insurance is(for me anyway) I go with the max. Same for my house, thank God I had coverage for my inground oil tank. When they pulled it, it started leaking. Guess what? I'm covered.

Say what? Where was this? Coverage follows the car - meaning it's Budget's dime first - not your Operator's policy - or you did one hell of a lot of damage and injury if the other party got into your Coverage.

Best info in this thread.
If you have nothing to protect, get minimum insurance.
I have MUCH to protect now, ironically because of redundant high-limit insurance policies that were in place when a drunk lost a game of ultimate chicken with me (it wasn't totally without cost tho' - I got a ghetto hobble now, and if I COULD run, it would be like willie here ---> )
Before that, I did have comp coverage, but minimum limits even then.
