Wheel Clearcoat
Is there a good method for taking the clearcoat off of my 87 wheels? They're not in bad shape overall, but some of the clearcoat is dull. Also, does taking the clearcoat off change the way you have to clean or care for the wheels?

Did mine witht he tires on it, its water soluble. Probably not great for them but I saw no damage from rinsing the stuff off. besides, it just gets brushed on the wheel so chances of it getting on the tires full strngth are very slim.
Edit: Keep the stripper off the center emblem if you have one, it will melt it.

Aircraft paint stripper works well but it will also take the "Argent" paint color off the wheel center and from between the spokes. You can get the "correct" paint color for the wheels from the accessory catalogs.
