Automatic Transmition - No 3rd Gerar
I am actually inquiring about a non-Corvette Car, but didn't know where else to ask. I have a 1975 Cadillac Eldorado (Front Wheel Drive) and it is not going into 3rd Gear - I checked the fluid and it seems to register too full. Any thoughts???? Thanks in advance...

Does it slip or does it just stay in 2nd? As I remember it, if it's not slipping, most of the time it's either the detent cable adjustment, vacuum modulator not working, or governor gear stripped,...and in that order. All control shifting. Check those out and then see what you got. The high fluid level shouldn't hurt anything on this transmission, but you might as well get it to the correct level anyway.
