Default Hydraulic system clutch

I Have a 1996. Hydraulic system seems like it needs to be bled. I opened up the bleeder valve let some fluid flow thru and then tried to pump all the small air bubbles out but have almost no pressure. Comments please.

I have replaced the clutch hydrulics in my car twice. The first thing I would recommend is to go to Zfdoc's web site and read all about the system. http://www.zfdoc.com
The second thing is to make sure you use good fluid in the system. I used junk fluid the first time, and had to replace the master and slave 18 months later. Use the GM fluid, as it has an additive that will stop the squeaking pedal these systems sometime have. Next, make sure you replace the spacer between the master and the firewall, and make sure the replace the clip that holds the rod from the master onto the clutch pedal.

Good Luck.

Did you remove the clutch slave to bleed it? If you can find someone in your area with a reverse bleeder - it makes the job much easier.

I replaced my Master cylinder last summer, here's a link to the bleeding procedure. Worked out well.

There has to be at least 2 pages on clutch bleeding over in C4 tech.

Good luck.

Well I swapped in a new master cylinder What a difference. I still need to get under and have another person help to fully bleed, But I now have a strong peddle pressure. Didnt do the slave, Pry should. The master that was in there was a thin walled with press to fit construction. the new one is a thick casting. (Lifetime warranted) Thanks people.
The local corvette shop quoted my 350 labor to put on the master and slave. This should only take about an hour or less.
Think i might give them a ring

I'd be interested to see what the seals looks like on your old master. For a while there was a string of them that had the seal backwards leading to very premature wear!
