Default Headliner color

Thanks to the search function, I've found great instructions on how to replace my headliner.

I have a tan interior in my '94, and I was thinking about replacing the original black headliner with tan fabric. Has anyone else done this color scheme, or seen someone else's car with it? How did it look?

I was also thinking about leaving the visors black, to match the black-and-tan scheme on the doors.

Opinons?

Ive never seen it but i think it might look pretty good, with the black n tan combo. I will be replacing mine soon with a synthetic leather that i have laying around. so off to the search function for me. Go for it, and if you dont like it, you can always change it later right?

The headliner material comes in alot of colors. There have been a few people here who have made and shown custom headliners with many materials.

go to your local fabric store and look around. You can find all kinds of stuff for a lot less. I went with black denim.

I went to the local fabric store "Joannes Fabric" and bought both gray and black microfiber for less than 20 bucks and did my own little design

here it is in action

I think it ties the interior into the exterior

OK, whoever says that the headliner should just "come right out" is spouting

I actually think mine may have been redone once before, because it was unbelievable trying to get the insulation board loose. I hope it holds up ok. I'm reinstalling with velcro, so if the board craps out and I have to get a new one, it won't be that bad. Props to whoever it was that first suggested velcro for this.

I decided to go with a tan colored vinyl that looks very close to the tan vinyl on the doors. Glue is drying tonight, fingers crossed...
