My tires arrived today. The funny thing is that they are shipped in pairs. As they were my mom couldn't get them in the door, she had to cut them apart. I love wide tires ;)
These things look awesome, I can't wait to put them on. I may do that tomorrow, I'm just not sure. Technically they are for Christmas, but then again my parents only paid for TWO of them. I might be able to talk them into letting me put them on the car. Afterall, they will be much safer in this rainy weather we've been having.
I agree with Smash on that...the day mine arrived, a little over a week ago, we had 5 inches of rain and i really didn't have to feather the accelerator after installing these bad boy. :yesnod: How do you like the tread design? Looked awesome to me, kinda matched my Firehawks a little.
I got them from tire rack, 275 40 17's $113 each plus shipping
BTW, I think the tread design is pretty neat. I really don't car what it looks like though as long as it peforms well. You can always tell a Kuhmo burnout, the big gap down the middle!
Well I have heard a lot of import guys(yes I hang out with them too) say they are great tires. And my freind has a s/c T/A with them on and he said they hook pretty well too. I haven't heard anyone tell me about them in the rain, but looking at the tread patter, they should be pretty good. And plus they are relatively cheap.
Does anyone know the number to them, I saw the ad on tv but forgot the number. I need to know if they have 285's for my rear.
The reason why they are good in the rain is because you just got them!
They still have full tread depth on them compared to the worn out ones the owner is most likely replacing....
Just my opinion
Yep they were new when I said what I did, but until I have a few miles on them I can't tell you how they run in the rain. But for the sake of the argument, I have had NEW Firestone SZ50s and as far as new goes, these handle much better in the rain. Not sure how long they will last but at 113 (about 1/2 the price of the Firestones) they don't have to get but 10,000 to be more economical than the Firestones :smash:
