i have to get a new radio and some guy working at a sterio place told me i will have to get new speakers because if i get a new radio it will blow the bose speakers. is this true or does he not know what he is talking about?

The bose system is not really like any other stereo system.
Each speaker has it's own built in amp. In order to use your bose speakers with an aftermarket head unit, you would have to have an adapter that converts the signal. And for the most part, those don't sound as well.
