I will be having my new Cooper tires mounted soon.
I have chrome sawblades on my vette and the original set of sawblades in pristine condition. I am going to have one of the 285 40 17 tires mounted on one of the original rear sawblades, clean it up really well, put a glass top on it and make it into a table. I may need a pedestal to set the whole thing on to raise it to a decent height.
Has anyone done this? I think it will be cool. I may even put it in my office. Thanks tdb
I'd like to see pictures when you're done. I thought about making an old tire into a cooler on wheels by putting a plastic tub through the tire. I saw one in a catolog a while back and it looked pretty good. Your idea sounds better.
I think it could be cool. I remember seeing a picture not too long ago of someone who made an End Table out of an LT5. Swear to God, I'm not making this up. Some rich bastard removed the LT5 from his ZR1 and had another LT5 built to produce some 600hp. Made an End Table from the original LT5. Mounted it on a stand and placed a glass top on it.

I've got an old Nascar Winston Cup tire that was used by one of the Andrettis in my garage. I put a round plexiglass top on it and some small blocks of wood to raise it up. Looks pretty cool

You could always cut down and axle to mount the wheel on and weld it to a metal plate for the base.
This way you could use the original lug nuts to dress it up even more.
