In the manual it says to only hook up positive to positive and negative to negative if the battery is out of the car. Otherwise, it says you need to ground one of the wires to the frame of the car - Is the C4 neg. grounded like most cars or positively grounded. I looked to see if I had anything coming off my battery but I didn't see anything.
Anyone have experiences with CTEK 3300?
Also, they give you the wire where you can install it directly to the battery. How do you wire that up?
With my normal charger, I just hook up positive to positive and negative to negative and I'm good to go.
Thanks.

when batt. is in car the thinking is, less chance of a spark if you hook neg. to frame or something that is steel i just hook mine up pos clamp to pos post neg clamp to neg post never had a prob.
I don't believe there's been any 12V positive systems since the mid 50's Fords and the British stuff.
Do you mean maybe a Multi 3300 or maybe a US 800? I've heard quite a bit good about them and they're rated for outdoor "damp" environments. I don't know anyone with one but I believe they're quite popular with the import "dealers" and offered through quite a few of them as "approved" accessories. They seem a bit more expensive than the Battery Tender but they're very compact.
It looks like they're real popular with the cycle shops also. Good lookin' stuff!
Ooops! I only caught the CTEK 300 in the thread not the 3300 in the "subject"!

Yes, I believe you are right - most cars are always negative. I think I'm going hook it up straight pos to pos neg to neg. I think they just tell you to ground it for safety reasons.
I bought it for the ZR-1 but I'm going try to see if it can bring my 93's Battery back to life through the desulferation mode lol
