beater? Haha.

Honestly, I've never heard one for the C4, C5, or C6. I think midyear is the only official one; most people call C3's Stingrays, but don't realize that the first Sting Ray's were C2's. We should think up a really cool name and start spreading it around!

I've heard C4's refered to as the "doorstop" or "wedge body" C5's are commonly known as the "Big Butt" cars.

Default Gen 4?

I read somewhere that the C4 was originally referred to as Generation 4 or "Gen" 4.

I don't think they were called C4 until the C5's came out. That's when they decided it was getting too confusing. Up untill then they just were the new vette, kinda like the C6's are described now.

Wasn't it something like solid axle, mid year, coke bottle/shark, and late model back when the C4s were the latest and greatest? If they kept going they would have added wedge, then big butt. Now I understand why they simplified.

I think that just plain C4 really sounds good. It has sort of a mean tone to it don't you think?
