Guys..coming up with a color is proably the hardest part of paint job. i posted a thread where i built a hood for my car and now it is time to start thinking of paint. have several ideas that i would like your opinion...good or bad. the pole doesnt mean it will be that color but could change my mind.
1st- Grand Sport colors
2nd- Black/Gold GS colors - my 5 yr old sons choice
3rd- Polo Green/Gold GS colors-becos it green already..less time involved
4th- MY Choice of the colors that i think will complement the lil mods that i am doing and will not be known till you see pix after paint.
I dunno...but the coolest part of the first pic is the matte finish (and the hood). I've seen a few cars this way including a ferrari 430? in matte black.
Go to the autocross/roadrace section and look for the car "bimmershop" built. Looks bad *** in matte black. Look up "F-Bomb" a Hot Rod project car done in matte green with black wheels
Going on what I said earlier "Green because a color change is much to involved. A picky person like me will always see that tiny green spec here or there or under this.....eewww"
How about green with black GS strip ???
May look good esp with that hood ! And then no worries with the green every where.

i've thought of a different shade of green..one that would brighten up in the sun but be dark in the shade.

the f-bomb is cool..thought about the GS colors in a matte color. ill check out bimmershop.
That hood looks pretty cool! My two cents, don't do GS, it's so overdone. Do something original. But in your other choices, you use "gold". I think gold is so 1970's...
Matte black would be kinda neat, but I'd say maybe something with a non-standard stripe? What about something like the 35th anniversary Camaro SS or something? Not exactly like that, but something where the stripe does something. Flares out or something. Not just the GS wide stripe down the whole car.
Heck, I dunno though. I just think a GS-scheme with the same or different colors would be a little, ehh, expected? common?
i am lookin to do a gold grand sport stripe on blackrose in the future. any opinions on how that would look. also anyone that could photoshop that for me would be greatly appreciated. really the only thing holding me back is not being able to see it first. here is a pic if anyone could do it for me.
beautiful car timscott. it is amazing how much depth can be had by the extra coats of clear and some wet sanding on a darker color car.i went with a few extra coats myself

Do something a little different. Although, Admiral Blue is a KILLER color. That might be a good base color for whatever you choose to do.
