Courtesy Lights
Wondering if I can get some help here.. When I open the doors on my 88 Corvette, the courtesy lights do not come one. Are there some wires that I can check that may be broken? How do you get the switches out of the door jambs? Anybody have any ideas on the best way to get them working again...

Check to make sure the courtesy lights come on with the dimmer switch. If so, you could have a bad door switch. I believe you can get to the connector by just pulling the screws out of the bottom of the door panel. (the connector won't pull through the door switch hole). Once you have it disconnected, jump the pins in the connector. If the lights come on, you have a bad switch. This happened on my 91 also. another thing to check the door switch is to see if the hatch switch on both doors work. The door switch, when open, completes the circuit to the hatch release switch on the corresponding door. Start with the easiest, check the bulbs. The bulbs also complete the circuit.
