Default Forgive Me

Forgive me brothers (and sisters), for I have sinned...Last October I took my '93 out for the last cruise of the year into the mountains. It rained up in the hills and then I drove into a dust storm when I got back down to Denver. My plan was to wash her, put in fuel stabilizer and wrap her up for the winter. Well...time kind of got away from me...and...I NEVER DID ANYTHING TO HER, SHE JUST SAT IN MY GARAGE, DIRTY AND ALONE!!! sniff The fall got away from me, I was out of town a lot, the holidays kicked in...before I knew it, we were in 2008! A Friend came by and asked me to fire her up. Since I hadn't started her in three months, I realized it was probably a good idea. When I tried, THE BATTERY WAS DEAD!!! OH THE SHAME AND HUMILIATION! For the last two months, I can't even look at her when I walk through the garage...she has been mistreated and I am ashamed.

Last Saturday, our temperatures crept into the low 70's here in Denver. I saw several Vettes out. The owners were so happy...the Vettes looked so shiny, I HAD AN EPIPHANY!! We could be one of those shiny happy drivers and Vettes once again! I must make amends!

So tell me friends, help this brother out; a new battery, a wash, an oil change..anything else to mend my evil, evil ways?!?

to receive complete and total forgiveness, you can always donate her to me. Just kidding, your plan sounds good to me. Hopefully you will be on the road again with her soon.

In order to make good with the Vette gods you must not repeat these transgretions and get her clean and running. Then after warming her up, do two burn outs and three high RPM shifts (to blow out the exhaust). When parking her the first three times you use her, you must also do the "look back" and finally to be totaly obsolved of your Vette sin...after your last drive of the "season" (for you northerners)--you must walk around her twice and swear not to do it again.

Hello in Thornton I'm down in Arvada, anyway I think you shouldn’t be so hard on yourself as the past months haven’t exactly been “detailing weather", oh and lets not forget all of the sand still on the streets.

Default You must make amends with your car

Cleaner wax followed by a quality wax is in order. A plain wax job will not do. Protectant spray and polishing the rims is also in order. A new air filter element of a cleaning of a K & N is also required. Also at the end of the 2008 season you must clean and prepare for storage in a proper manner. An offering of a new car cover may convince your car that you have sincerely repented of your sin.

Default Shame, shame, on you!

Just be glad the "Corvette Police" didn't write you a ticket or send you to Corvette jail. There you would be forced to wash and wax Mustangs until you learned your lesson!!!

Well....Try not to let it happen again!!

You're forgiven. Try charging the battery first.

Don't worry about it. Just drive it. It'll forgive you. I drive mine 365 days a year*, more on leap years, whether dirty or not.
