Got PKE to work
OK for all you guys that are having problems I got my new FOB today (car did not come with one) And got it programmed. This is for the guys who do not get the PKE light to flash when you turn the key off.
I followed the instructions but when I turned it off it did not flash. Tried 3 times but no joy. Here is what I did to get it to flash. Push in the key and hold it there when you turn it off mine THEN did flash as long as I pushed it in. I had someone bring the fob into range while I did this and voila. My guess is the pellet is worn or the contacts in the column are. It never was an issue at start up because I naturally push the key in while I do that. Good Luck and report back if it works for you

One additional comment on this I did try programming it without the flashing PKE and it sort of half worked. When I walked away it locked but did not re open. I mention this because of an earlier post that mentioned the same symptom as this.

Hey congrats, now let the PKE fun begin..... In all seriousness, I had to buy one too because the prior owner didn't have it. I luckily had no problems getting it to work. A big investment as a shot in the dark. I do like it for the most part, but it can get annoying cycling the locks when not needed.

It is for "handling" and they are "handling " us for sure That said even with the shipping it is as cheap or cheaper than anywhere else and they are a good source for OEM parts. I don't know if you get a break on multiple parts on the shipping or not. Does anybody know?

What I really need to do is get my door/key/headlight chimes working. Darn near drained my battery (again) at lunch today leaving the running lights on .

That module is not too hard to get too you need to pull the Bezel around the radio and the radio maybe the ac unit. It sits up above the CCM ( I think it is)with a velcro attachment to it. They some times can be repaired but pucker up if you need to buy one if you can find it they ain't cheap. Best shot to get one is from the parts section here from someone who is parting out a car.

Thanks for the tip
Thanks for the tip. I'll try it tonight and I hope it works. I've been stymied at the flashing PKE step and really didn't want to dive into the electronics and wiring.
