which vettes are appreciating?
ONE YEAR of production !!!!!
I agree horsepower and rarity are very important, but you can't beat POPULARITY to bring in the buyers.
For example
THE 88 35th anniversary sold only 9% of total production.
The 96 CE sold 25% of total production.
The 93 Ruby Z25 sold 31% of total production !!!
They couldn't build em fast enough to satisfy the demand.
O.K. I am biased
My personal opinion is the ZR-1 engine scares a LOT of buyers away.
I know it's proven it's durability but just thinkin bout all those cams n valves scares me!!!!

The '63 coupe also points out how the market can be fickle. At the time, vette buyers hated this coupe due its poor rear-view visibility so GM changed it the very next year. No one thought about the fact that this would make for a very rare car and thus collectible 30 years down the road. But it's nearly impossible to predict what unpopular odd-***** will turn into investment gold 25 years from now. If it were that easy, we would all rush out to purchase a Telsa Coupe!

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
People generally didn't like the color combo (weird).
All of a sudden it became common knowledge that only 1,000 were built
and all hell broke loose.(pure collector value)not generally popular.
They may rocket into the mega dollar range ???
Can you build and market a collectors' item ????
I maintain they will peak and then fall off in price.
It's just my opinion but a Corvette has to look good too,and this car in I think most people's opinion is garish with a strange color combo that is not as appealing as a CE or really many other C-4 color combinations.
It does have some heritage but it's a re-make of a true collectible.
Put it this way, if they'd built 5,000 they wouldn't be collectible and I don't think they'd be popular either.
My $00.02

I also think the '93 Ruby ZR-1 will hold its own over time. One thing for sure...time will tell what will be collectible.
one thing, you refer to "black tag", what is this?
btw - when i placed my order for 89, i got all upgrades with one exception, low tire pressure warning. i should have just gotten that too...
