Default 4+3 Problems

Ok So the Vette has sat for way too long... I'll have it back tomorrow with new brakes (Those are Expensive) Anyway while driving her to the brake shop the overdrive was acting very wierd It would engage in first gear and when it was engaged if you even tapped the gas it would drop out of overdrive not its been sitting for about 3 months now could this just be the fluid I changed it the last time I changed the oil could that be it or is it something else?
Thaks for any help

What year is the car? Overdrive can be engaged in 1st gear for some years under certain conditions, and yes even tapping the gas will shift out of it.

Same year as me, yep OD can come on in 1st.

For OD to become engaged in 1st gear.....

1. OD program must of been active before shifting into 1st.
2. OD may be engaged with button
3. OD kicks out on any increase in acceleration, if RPM <3000
4. Accelerating at >60% throttle in 1st turns off overdrive until shifted into 4th gear, and less than 75% throttle & under 2500 RPM.

It is kind of hard to understand. :)

It can't hurt. The only time I really seem to notice it coming on in 1st is when I had it on in 4th maybe, and just cruise in neutral almost to a stop, and put it in 1st before stopping thinking that traffic might start moving before I stop.

I love the "kick-out" from 1st. Especially when it decides to surprise me!
