I'm looking to install the optional DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS on my '94 Corvette. I'm not interested in the aftermarket kits, I prefer the factory module and associated parts required. Can anyone provide info and / or the needed parts?
On the Canadian cars there is a sensor in the dash directly in front of the steering wheel.
These sensors are way to sensitive to fluctuations in sunlight. Every time you drive into the shade, under trees or under a bridge. the lights flip up and down which causes the headlight plastic gears to wear out due to the weight of the headlights themselves.
Most of us Canadians install the headlight defeat unit. We now need to turn the lights on and off manually. Now the only lights that are on all the time are the orange directional signal lights.
Hopefully now the gears will last the life of the car.
DRL's on Canadian cars are the park/signal lights in BRIGHT signal mode. They are automatic on with ignition.
They alternate to dim when signal is activated.
Theyalso have an automatic on headlight sensor which flips headlights up in low light.
This can be defeated by lifting sensor out of dash and disconnecting wires from sensor and joining them together.
