My 1986 corvette paint is starting to blister, the car was painted about 5 years ago. I was wondering if this bubble or blister can be fixed and if I don't fix it will it get bigger? I was thinking about cutting it with a razor blade then painting it with touch-up paint.

U can try, but you're iceskatin' uphill. It sounds like your clearcoats bubbling from the elements. That happened to mine before I had to have it repainted. It's like tryin to patch a f**** dam with friggin bubble gum. If this is he case, don't even bother.....just get it repainted(and do it without clearcoat unless u have the cash to redo it in another 2 or 3 years) or you're wasting your time. When the rain hits the paint after being in the sun for so long, that ****'s gonna eventually bubble everywhere. Furthermore, the toxins in the acid rain's gonna oxidize the finish everywhere else. U can try the touch up paint, but if it is what it sounds like, you're up ***** creek without a paddle until a repaint. Deoxidizing products will just make it worse by weakening the clearcoat and touchup paint eventually isnt gonna match the areas after the clearcoat peels anyway.
I have 14 year old clear coat paint and it still looks fantistic. Don't let those who know little about paint scare you. If you "pop" this bubble, be prepared to paint the hood. Painting the hood would easily run in the neighborhood of $800 if done properly...you decide if your car is worth spending that much money.
It will get bigger if you play with it .Looks like a humidity bubble and if so more will appear in the future .Cause . water in the air when spray painted
My paint is about the same age and peeling where the 1/4 panel meets the halo and on the front bumper where I hit a raccoon. Bumper looks real bad. It takes more $$ to buy a good paint job than it takes to buy a car. I will do it my self this time.
