Default Windshield wiper arm question

I just had my windshield replaced and changed the windshield wiper blades, but now the driver's side blade f**** up and gets caught against the glass from the arm. How exactly do you remove the actual arm that holds the blade. I saw the windshield guy do it and he said something about the driver's side arm being "bent" somewhere, which most probably is causing the prob. It looked like it just snapped out of the **** below the windshield, but trying proved something else and I didn't want to force it lest something truly bent. Around the arm end where it screws in there's three bolts, but I didn't check if the guy had them out at the time. Also, how much would the driver's side arm run at a dealer if anyone knows(I was told its he only place to find one). TiA

I replaced the drivers side arm on my 85. My dealer raped me. The new one cost $100 and was made in Mexico. There is a tab at the bottom of the arm where it fits over the stud. Just pry it out with a screwdriver and the arm slips off of the stud. Mine was cracked, so it came off easily.

Hi, you need to lift the arm, as far as it goes naturally, then where the arm slides into the shaft, you will see a retaining latch that needs to be pulled out, with a screw driver or something, then you can pull the arm off the shaft. I had to replace one, and it was about $100 from the dealer, as the previous response said. Sorry, my camara does not play well with my laptop, or I'd post a photo. Good luck

About 2 years ago, I replaced both wiper blades. I used a generic brand.I then noticed that the drivers blade would get caught by the hood. I then bought delco blades and I never had a problem. I hope this is your situation-an easy fix

Had the same problem. Gotta buy factory low profile. 1993. My arm kept hutting the hood.

The AAnco low profile from WalMarts work fine. I rather seriously doubt you need a new arm, just a low profile blade.

also make sure when he put the arms back on he put them on the correct side, the installer is correct, the D/S side arm will have what looks like a bend in it ( course it might also truly be bent) this helps prevent wiper arm collision.
