Hi I am a new owner of a 92 C4. It is Black Rose convertible. This is my first Corvette other than my dreams for so many decades.
I have been reading a lot of your messages on this forum and it seems to me there are a lot of very smart and experienced vet owners on here. So my question is: I shut the read deck and now it will not open on the passenger side. I have looked and looked but can not find it. The owners manuel says it is behind the seat belt support but I still can not find it. Any help in locating it would be of great help. I can hear it try and release when I push the button but nothing happens on that side.
Any advice will be greatfully appreciated
I too have a 92. There is a release in the center console and a release on each door at the rear of the door panel. It looks like a rocker type of switch. Press down toward the ground to activiate the switch. Don't try to "rock" it as it doesn't work.
Hope this helps.
There is a manual release lever on both sides behind the upper seat belt anchor. They are not the easiest to find - use a flashlight. Once you locate these levers, pull down and back and that will release the deck lid on either side. (These manual levers are there in case of a dead battery or other electrical problem.) Once you've got the lid open, you can figure out why the release isn't opening electrically.
Good luck.
Thank You for your replies, I have tried everything you all mentioned but still no go. The top is down and this is making it hard to find the hidden lever. Too bad they did not color it yellow or something so it would stand out. If I ever find it I think that is what I will do for the next time this happens. Hopefully it wont but one never knows.
Any other ideas would be appreciated. The weather has finally warmed up and I would really like to be driving it. It has been a long winter here in Iowa. She is even crying wanting me to take her out..The Vet that is. Or maybe it is me crying..one of us for sure.

First of all, I want to express my appreciation for all of you that helped me with my problem. And a special thanks to ynk1121 for sending me the photo. That was really great!
I guess I am a real dumb newbe, after receiving all the help and still could not find it I went to the drivers side...and guess what? I found it right away with all of your help. Now the real problem came to lite. It appears the reason I could not find it is...simple...it must be broke off as it is not there.
If any of you have a solution I am open to anything at this time. I have a feeling it has to go to the shop. The Vet is in such great shape and only had 36,000 on it when I got it last fall. I guess like everything else, time wears more than miles.
Thank you everone for your help. The secondary lever was broken off, but once I found where it was I used a small pry bar that has a bent end and gently lifted what was left of the lever. It popped up right away. After some WD40 it works just like new.
Now I am going to try and find a new part and a way to replace the broken on.
