I bought a hatch vent for my 96 and what a difference it makes. It really cuts down the wind turbulence in the cockpit of the car and is quick to put on and remove.
Yup, the targa's fine back there! All this does is bolt to the glass mounting point and keep it "popped" about 3 inches.
As for the stresses on the hatch class, that's something I wonder about. I did my first extended highway driving with it this past weekend, and looking at the front lower corners of the glass, they're definitely moving around with the wind buffeting. Made me sort of uneasy that it was wavering that much. But it's bolted down at the back, and I figure enough people use them and praise them that nothing serious is going to happen ...
Been thinking about this item but does it stress the hatch when it's on?
I always wonder about that too. When I'm driving with it in you can really see the glass moving around, but nothing drastic has happened in 6 years so I guess its OK
You guys talked me into it. I'm ordering one right now. TOYS TOYS TOYS I hate the wind buffeting on my SUV's with the windows down. Sounds like a great solution for the vette.
