I had the side windows re-tinted today. This time a little darker....20%. It used to have legal 35% ray-ban smoke...but it's all even. I had the back glass re-done when the car was painted and never got around to doing the sides. The Guy that was there Co-Working got the royal tour of my photobook and thought it was a '96 :D Like lots of others I have fooled. With tint either you like it or you don't. I felt naked without it this whole time! I'm glad I had 'em re-done. I'll post a pic in a few...Have to down a little more day-quil as I still feel like complete crap! This brightened my day though.
See Jimbos post where I got silly. the first photo of where the car was red is 35% on the doors, 20% on the back. They should NOT break your stones to the rear of the driver. It's tough sometimes with the 20% in back, but it's nice overall. I am glad I re-did it! Looks C O M P L E T E!!!
I have 20% on mine, and would love to have double that. I don't think I will own a car without tint! There is an occasional problem at night with seeing, but nothing that I don't mind
Hey JD,
That 20% looks nice...it almost looks like 5% in the pics!
Do you know the brand name of the paper-film used on the glass?
Just wondering...some places get some really good paper, some dont. The stuff they sell in the parts stores, its hit and miss for me on quality.
I used to have 5% on the Vette and had to take it off because I couldnt see people crossing the street at night time when they would walk out as I was pulling up by them to make a turn.
Best benefit is the interior will last a long time and wont fall apart from the sun as fast.
:)
The film that has been on there since I got the car has been Ray Ban believe it or not. Supposedly they discontinued it(According to my tinter) It's metallic, and quite nice stuff. The week after I bought the car I had it tinted with 35% on the doors(I Used to get busted ALL THE TIME by the cops) and 20% on the back. Yes, 5% is tough! I had that on every window including a sunstrip on my mustang gt. Looks DYNAMITE...but VERY difficult to see out of at night or on dark driveways.
Thanks for the kind words fellas... It's still drying, so it has the "DISTORTION" thing going. I might leave it in the sun a little to help them dry. :)
Up here, no tint is permitted on the side windows at all, but I'm definitely getting the rear tinted soon. I'm still deciding whether to go with a mirror tint. I know from a recent poll that some people think that mirror tint is for ricers only, but I think on a silver car it might look ok.
