It is easy, take off the 4 bolts that hold down the fuel rails. Then, carefully pull the the FI's out, there is a clip right under the fuel rail that holds the FI on. Almost forgot, use a spray cleaner 1st around the FI's to get rid of any debris.

Yes. I saw it actually leak (just a drop).
Do I need to shut the fuel pump off before doing this work?
Also, ho wdo I know which type to replace it with? These are purple tops, I assume they're color coded.

Leaking from the fuel rail? Pull the FP fuse and turn the car over to relieve pressure but if you let it sit over night (especially with a leak) you should be OK. You may need to use a big screw driver to pry the front and back of the rail up a little on each side but they will come out. Sounds like you need a new "O" ring probably change the all. Inspect them for cracks. The clip that holds them in the rail just slides off of it. Don't loose them( they can slide off the rail). Once you get the rail out just flip it over on the passenger side. No smoking and plenty of ventilation ( and mabey an extinguisher just in case)
Instead of replacing them you can send them off to get cleaned. Doesn't sound like you have stock injectors.
What's involved in replacing an injector? Is it hard or easy? Mostly is it safe to do in a home garage?
You need to disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel rail, remove any items blocking access to the fuel rail, remove the fuel rail, unlock each injector and remove them.
It's not "hard" but can be tedious depending on how much "stuff" need be removed to access the rail and injectors.
I suggest you run the fuel level down to 1/4 tank, park on a flat surface, with fuse pulled run the engine till it's our of fuel, put some paper towels under the fuel lines and disconnect from the rail. If you do it inside the garage I'd have the door open while there is any fuel odor.
You do not need to remove the lines from the rail. I have done this 3 times on a LT1 already. Pop the rails up and the whole assemby will flip over onto the surge tank and you will have access to all the injectors looking you right in the face. There is nothing blocking the rails besides the plastic covers which I assume you already have off if you can see the leak. You do have to push in the harness clip to pull the plug off do that first simply push the center of the "bow" and pull upto unlock the clip. Nor is it necessary to run your fuel down doing what I have told you will ensure the rail is well above the fuel tank.

I have done this and I wouldn't really consider it all that easy. Mine was an 85 so that might make a difference. There is a lot to take off before you can even get to the injectors. If you have limited mechanical experience, you probably don't own many of the tools that you'll need either. Unless you are up to a real challenge, I'd leave it to someone else with experience. I wouldn't change just 1. Change them all while you have it apart.
