Default rusty rotors C4

just woke up my 95 after 5 months in storage in my quanset hut here in the north east. Rotor's all rust!! Is there anything I can do to keep this to a minimum? Thanks for any help on this.

You can paint the edges & hub area, but the surfaces swept by the pads will always be prone to rusting, as they are bare steel. That part should clear up quickly once the brakes are used anyway.

My daily driver is parked outside and the rotors always have a fair amount of rust the morning after a rain or wash.

Get some steel wool and clean them up and after a few hard stops they will be nice and shiny.

If you've ever washed your car, you can see the pad wear surface rusting before your eyes. It's just a fact of life. If you cant to keep the center portion and the edges from rusting, as jrp said, you can either get them powdercoated or use some high-temp paint.

Paint the hubs and edges. Leave the braking surface alone, one or two stops will clean them. I've seen my rotor surfaces rust over after a cool night followed by a warm damp day. If the rust on your rotors is really bad and pitting the surface you may have to replace them.

my rotors were rusting when i bought my GS. i took all 4 rotors and calipers and painted them b/c c/c torch red. no problems or rust 2 1/2 yrs later. and they still shine like new
