Could be the brake lines. Get under there and tap them to see if they rattle. If they do, the FSM says to zip-tie them together to eliminate the rattle.
Perhaps, but there is a world of difference between an 86 and a 95. The late model C4 had a heck of a lot of dampening material placed in strategic places to significantly reduce the rattles & squeeks.
A proper condition 95 should NOT have squeeks & rattles even going over a section of railroad tracks. Now it is true that over time I have replaced all 4 wheel bearings and put in a new set of FX3 shocks and even replaced a few ofthe bushings. But I drive every day and do not have squeeks & rattles.
Your best source for chasing down those rattles is your FSM.
I found that the rubber bushings in the rear sway bar links were completely worn away. Once it was fixed. . . the car was tighter and quieter over bumps..still squeaks with the targa lid off tho...
Spend some time with a screwdriver tightening every interior screw you can locate in the car. Over time they loosen up. This may eliminate a good portion of the rattles.
