Default 95 rattles

Any thoughts on rattles on my 95 coupe; sounds like it's coming from left rear, inside, but hard to pinpoint. Anybody else out there.

Could be the brake lines. Get under there and tap them to see if they rattle. If they do, the FSM says to zip-tie them together to eliminate the rattle.

Look in your FSM, they have an entire section on rattles - no joke!

It's a rough riding car, they make noise. You should take a ride in mine sometime.. sounds like a dog's squeaky toy when I drive down a bumpy road.

Perhaps, but there is a world of difference between an 86 and a 95. The late model C4 had a heck of a lot of dampening material placed in strategic places to significantly reduce the rattles & squeeks.

A proper condition 95 should NOT have squeeks & rattles even going over a section of railroad tracks. Now it is true that over time I have replaced all 4 wheel bearings and put in a new set of FX3 shocks and even replaced a few ofthe bushings. But I drive every day and do not have squeeks & rattles.

Your best source for chasing down those rattles is your FSM.

Default Sway bar links?

I found that the rubber bushings in the rear sway bar links were completely worn away. Once it was fixed. . . the car was tighter and quieter over bumps..still squeaks with the targa lid off tho...

Spend some time with a screwdriver tightening every interior screw you can locate in the car. Over time they loosen up. This may eliminate a good portion of the rattles.
