I suppose some people do look down on any car that is "older" than theirs; --status seeker types. Well, if that is all that buoys some people's egos, they're a pathetic lot for sure!
Real Vette lovers appreciate all of the history and the progression of technology which carried the baton from one generation to the next. So, sneering at a previous gen Vette is like sneering at your parents!!...If not for the previous generation, there wouldn't have been a "next". So, appreciate what ya have and shine and show!
FWIW,
P.
I m a new member too, and I m got help already more than once. Thanks, and I think that a good point about needing to appreciate all the history and the progression of technology. I want a newer C5 but would always love the C4's even if I had a C5 or C6. I dont think I could part with my C4 anyways. Just addy another one like a 04 ZO6.
That would be good having a clean C4 as a treasure, and a C5 for a daily driver.
Sat I am heading to a Vette Get-together at a Dealership in Nashua NH. Not a show but a chance to look around. My 35th was the first I ever saw so I assume there might be 1 other person who would take a look. I like seeing all the generations in one area so you can really appreciate the changes and improvements.
I will have to remember to check on this event next year. I was unaware of it.
Entered a show and shine last weekend sponsored by a local Corvette club. There were alot of c4's. Two Callaways and Two ZR1's. But I had the only LT4. The red manifold got alot of double takes.

2005 c5 Wow that is extremely rare. Hang on to that bad boy!
I'm new and very grateful that I "Googled" a Corvette question and Corvette Forum was the second hit on the list. I've gained a tremendous amount of info in a short time...info that has saved me some big bucks and enhanced my enjoyment of bringing a C4 back to its former glory. Thanks Folks!!!

I bought my first Corvette a 1968 327/ 350hp 4 speed coupe Le-Mans Blue I added side pipes to it among other things I was 19 years old. I have owned a total of 6 Vetts over the years, do I wish I still had them ( you bet I do). I remember sitting in my friends garage middle of February so cold our hand were numb cutting out the fender-wells with a hack saw blade so we could get the newest Inglewood Red Line Tires to fit on his 64 with out scraping the top of the wells, helping my best friend mod his 69 Mako Shark Coupe, dam we couldn’t keep front wheel bearings on that car, back then there were no adapters or wheel spacers if you added wide wheels, there were no real after market guys. Having my 78 25th anniversary Vett stolen 3 weeks after I bought it. Then there was the time we installed an ignition bomb in my friends 72 we all knew what would happen when he started it we were all there just having a beer watching him freak out, (way to funny at the time). Any way growing up in Detroit with a father that was a Parts Manger for a Chevy dealer Corvettes where the car. I drive a C4 because they are the last of the Corvettes each one a personality of its own no 2 the same. I can mod it, change the way it looks, drive the hell out of it, and totally enjoy the fact that pound for pound dollar for dollar its the best car in the world.
I haven't been to a show yet since I just got mine in Feb. but I can't understand how a TRUE vette owner would look down on another vette for any reason.

Kinda put those folks that look down on any Vette as the same aholes that refuse to wave. I live in the N.E. lot'a New York attitude behind the wheel here. Lota Vette owners around here that are NOT VETTE GUYS/GALS. Sitting next to a fellow owner at a stop light crossing lanes and they still see ya wave and just look away. My guess is they were just too long in the birth canal!! Every year Vette has something to offer. Wish I had one of every year,Ha!!
