The far right dash vent is rattling and I am to the point were I have my passenger hold there finger again the vent to stop it. Is there a way to stop it? Thanks
Check for loose screws, get some Dynamat at BBY and take everything apart, cover it, and put it back together.
Just for the heck of it, ensure your exhaust system is to rubbing/touching any metal/bolts/parts of the frame.
I installed headers on mine and the resonator was touching the seat belt screws and God! the resonance was crazy, at 1,500 RPM the whole dash was shaking (kinda cool). The muffler shop heated the pipes and with a "come-along" he fixed the problem.
A little clear silicone (just a dab) has been known to quiet a rattle pretty well, and still comes apart later.
This sounds like the right idea. I dont think my exhaust is causing it because it is whisper quiet(sounds nearly electric) but I am getting the mufflers deleted on Monday. If you just ever so lightly set your finger on the vent, it stops completely. I am going to try the clear silicone this weekend. Thanks
pull the screws and on the back, cut some velco sticky kind, stick to holel on back of dash and screw back... was a tip on Vette mag or corvette mag, can't remember which one, did it on my old dash, and on all my new dash pieces, complete rebuild and no rattle or nose... cheap and easy...and it works.
