a little pricey but I put Michelin Pilot Sport on front and back, they improved handling and ride comfort, however I am a little biased as I worked for Michelin manufacturing tires for 34 years.
OK, I know it's weird, but I took the original ZRs off to store them and wanted a set of replacements which looked somewhat like the ZRs. Got a set of Avon Tyres (they're British) and was pleasantly surprised. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....ech+M550+A%2FS
hi,
I know your looking for 17" or up size tires, but I have a set of general xp2000's on my 87 ( 16" ). they are rock hard so you can impress your freinds by spinning the tires every time you hit the gas and slide sidways through every turn you enter. Also , you can skid to a stop about ten feet past where you tried to stop( even farther i n the rain).
I know I shouldn't bragg about my tires to you since they probably don't make them in the 17" size. Good luck on your search!

I'm cheap! I have Sumitomos 285/40/17 X 9.5 all four corners. They have a good foot print and for a $100.00 tire they're aren't bad. Although I think I have one slightly out of round. Got a little shake above 65. Not bad, just slight. Above 80 you don't even notice it.
