Where can I buy sun visors for a reasonable price?
Mine cant be rebuilt, the cardboard is dry rotted and I would like to have lighted mirrors. Mine does, but they're so bad, that you can barely see yourself.
All the ones I looked at are cardboard. How about removing them and dropping them off at a reputable upholstery shop to be rebuilt with something that will last.
I removed mine, does look better, but I understand why you can't.

About three winters ago I needed a "snow project" so I pulled both visors, took them completely apart, molded new cardboard and hand sewed them up with a nice black padded covering. Cost was maybe <$20 for both sides. The new cardboard "ears" are holding up very well but I'm careful to not abuse them now.
If the mirror glass needs to be replaced, when you have the mirrors out during the visor rebuild process, have a good glass shop cut you two new pieces of glass to fit. BTW, use some caution when pushing a mirror back into the masonite board that runs the center of the visor.
So that's all there is to it? Just push some plastic under the mirror housing and it goes right under the fabric on the other side? No sewing, no nothing? Sounds too easy, but I'll certainly try it out. Thanks!
