Thinking of putting a lowering kit on a stock 94 LT1 as far as I can tell there isn't much involved in the kit to lower it 1/2 inch - however I do not want to be in over my head installing this - has anyone put one on who can tell me the "low down" (sorry) on putting it on??
Check out my webpage and there is an explanation of it. Not extremely hard if you are mechanically inclined, but not for the faint of heart either. :chevy
It's not hard, I just removed my front spring last night. Here's how I did mine.
1. Jack up car and remove both front tires.
2. Disconnect shocks and sway bar from lower control arm.
3. Remove lower ball joint nut and reinstall up side down untill the nut is flush with the top of the stud.
4. Place a jack under the lower control arm and bring it up until the jack is about 1/4" from the arm.
5. Lightly tap on the ball joint stud with a hammer until it pops loose.
6. Jack up the lower control arm to take the load off of the ball joint and remove the bolt.
7. Slowly lower the jack to relieve the pressure from the spring.
8. Repeat on other side.
9. Unbolt the spring from its mounts.
10. Jack the car up about 16"-20" to the bottom of the lower control arm.
11. Jiggle, wiggle, cuss and spit until you thread the spring out one side.
12. Crack open beer and admire your awsome mechanical abilitys
