After purchasing a 94 LT1 w/77,000 on the odometer I am wondering from some of you newer C4 owners (my other is an 88) If it is a good precaution to replace the optispark now or just hold out until it pukes :U (ive always wanted to use the puke guy) realy im just wondering if it is safe to bet that it will hold out to or past 100k
that is alot of miles if it is the orig. Opti....just be on the lookout i would replace when the water pump goes out due to the $ involved, or of course when it starts to show signs of failure since it is not vented replace the waterpump as a set if it has alot of miles on the pump, that is also a good time to change plugs and wires i changed my Opti at 45k,then my pump went out at 55k and was lucking to catch it before it distroyed my new Opti it now has 70k and holding strong. Thank you for the replies, I like preventative maintenance however given the cost I will wait until it shows signs of failure and use your advice to do the water pump at the same time!
Don't sweat it...better yet worry about what santa is bringing  If it goes it goes....probably not for a long, long time though :yesnod: :yesnod:
