Hello all. Well I'm miffed! I have been having a severe brake problem and am at a loss for the fix. I can drive my car for a good day or so and then all of a sudden while driving I totally lose my brake pedal....sinks to the floor (scary stuff). It will stay like that til the cars sits a while turned off then the pedal returns back to normal again. I have replaced with new parts the master cylinder and brake booster and no help. My pedal when working does seem a bit tight for power brakes but still does a good job stopping if that is any help with the diagnosis. This last time I got a dash brake warning light and when the car was off and the brakes returned the light was off again. I am at a loss to where the problem lies...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you hadn't already replaced the master cyclinder, that is what I would suggest is the problem.
Did it do the exactly same thing before new master cylinder?
What brand master cylinder and was it new or rebuilt?
Any chance it is a bad/defective master cylinder?
What brand/grade brake fluid? If not DOT 3, might have damaged the ABS unit.
Have the brakes been bleed and bleed properly (FSM 5-10)? Was the ABS unit bleed (master cylinder prime pipe)? Was it in the correct order which is critical to the valving within the ABS unit (rr, lr, rf, lf).
