Default Opinions?

I have an 85 coupe and am thinking of leaving it unbadged
the old badges were nasty faded and whatnot so was thinking screw it.
as well as taking off the rear bumber 'corvette'. onlth thing that would tell the not knowing its a corvette will be my rims(til the TTM come), front license plate cover, and some interior cues

so is it taboo?

I think some cars look cool without them, it gives a more smooth look. Just depends on hows it done, never seen it done on a corvette.

Do whatever trips your trigger.

It's not like we're talking about a '67 BB coupe or something.

It's your car. I don't see the purests ripping ypu for leaving the emblems off. It you don't like the look you could always put new ones on later. Have fun with it.

If people don't know its a corvette, let them wonder.

I was going to take the badges off my HHR, but decided to leave it on with the hopes that people won't confuse it with a PT...

Default holes?

And what are you going to do about the holes? I'm told that that is a real problem. Filler will shrink over time, and not look good.

I really like the looks of the Callaway tear drops that they put in the hood after they remove the emblem, but they wont sell you just the tear drops.

I really do like the looks of the hood without the emblem. It makes the hood look a lot wider, in my opinion.

So what are your plans for the holes?

I don't think that there's any person out there who won't know that it's a Corvette. Do what you like and what you want. It's your car. But personally, I like the badging.

If I see a car, truck, whatever without badging, I think that the vehicle was wrecked, and the owner thought it would look better (and save money) when repairing it, and it is usually the case.

Did the same with a 800 dollar Dodge - I liked it alot.

A corvette is obviously more spooky for this trial.

I read the C5 guys are 50/50 about the factory side moulding removal for looks.

I would try a front or rear "trial" - assess the looks and go with it on both if appealing.

I'm confused! What side moulding are you talking about on a C5? I don't see any side moulding on a C5.

Right up until someone (not a serious car person) said the front my Z looked like a Ferrari (w/o the emblems) I kinda liked the clean look. Ferrari??? Phoch that!!! Nice (read: metal) emblems are available from Midwest Corvette. It looks "right" now and the new emblems are beautimus!!!

I don't think so junior. Most trucks, cars or rods that you see without badges are that way because THEIR OWNERS LIKE HOW IT LOOKS, not because they were wrecked. Were you born yesterday?

I think It'll look cool without badges. Corvette people will notice what you've done and think its and those who dont know Corvettes wont know the difference anyway...so do what you want!
