With gas nearing $4 the thot does come to mind. My onboard used to show approx 19mpg on my 92 lt1. It has now been recording around 11. All of the winter additives should be out of the pumps by now. Could there be a sensor malfunction that is making it run too rich?
I often have problems with my mpg gauge, but I think it has to do with a pressure sensor in my shoe because my gas seems to disappear quicker too. When I set the cruise control, my mpg always climbs. It's the damndest thing.
Yeah, I know there is a tendency to let the ponies out a little faster after the winter hiatus, but I'm really not driving that much different. And that is a substantial drop, gotta be something. O2 sensors?
Hopefully it isn't like I heard on one of the news stations, the new ones had heaters installed underground that would raise the temp, which expands the gas, which means they pump less by volume, makes the gas go further (for the station).
