clean headlights
I need to clean the painted parts of my headlights that hide under the hood except when the lights are on. How can I pop up the headlights without leaving the lights on? Also, will washing the hood and headlights while they're popped up allow too much water into the engine bay? I'm not worried about the Optispark. I don't have one ('89 coupe).

Turn on the headlights so they will "pop up". Press the headlight switch in one detent to the parking light position and the headlights will go off and the headlights will stay up with just the parking lights on. The amount of water entering the engine bay while washing them will not hurt anything, rain gets in there too.
