Default transmission

i have an 86 C4 that leaks tranny fluid from somewhere around the O/S of the box into the Cat Converter which in turn cathes fire !!!
This has happened on more than a few occasions and only happens when hot. When i look under the vehicle there are no signs of where leak is coming from, any suggestions.

Check with Dr. PeteK

Mine had a slow leak at the linkage O-ring, but it took forever to find the source since it blew back when driving.

The shop pressed a new one in, and viola, I was no longer marking the spot every time I parked.

thanks, but mines has no drips at all when it gets hot it would appear to jet out at great pressure from somewhere.

Check your transmission fluid lines.

Sounds like the pressure line may have a crack that shows up when the trans gets warmed up.

I would check it right at the fitting going into the tranny.
