Boy, sure getting to hate corvettes. My 91 wouldn't release the key a month or 2 back. I put the battery on the charger and it eventually let it go. Today I started the car and moved it from the back of the house to the front, again it won't let me turn it off and remove the key. I put it on the charger again even though the battery had plenty of juice. The charger now reads 100% charged, and the *%$%((&#@ thing won't let go of the #$^$$@ key. Any ideas? I'm so discouraged with my first corvette I just want to light it up and stand back and throw bottles at it while it burns. Never seen a car with so many security devices to keep the owner from ever driving it.
We had a similar problem with our 95. You had to make sure the shift lever was fully in the Park position and the shift **** had popped up.
My wife discovered this problem after picking up the car in Port Angeles, it was shipped from Pennsylvania, and driving onto the ferry. She shut the car off and couldn't get the key out. She had to phone the fellow we bought the car from in PA to find out what to do.
