I have a 1985 C4 that the dash lights have an intermittent issue. I have cleaned and inspected the circuit boards and found nothing. I suspect that it is the G201 ground connection that is supposed to be behind the IP at the left of the steering column. I have looked and cannot find any ground connection. Will someone post a better description or a picture so that I can find this?
I think that I found it just under the plastic piece that my foot goes over every time I get in, at the very front of that piece. But it unfortunately didn't solve the problem, neither did the G401 at the rear of the engine. I'll check the connector at the side of the IP next. Anyone have any other suggestions??
It may be related to an high voltage cut out, when the voltage reads over 14.2 the dash lighting goes out. When it comes back on the voltage is 12.2-12.5. There has not been enough times that this has happened that I've noticed when the lights go out or on to make this a consistent situation, but it appears to be a likely event at this time. Any comments???
