Earlier this week my check engine light came on and my car started to run like it was bogged down. When i checked the light i got a code 63, which is suppose to be a bad right O2 sensor. I ended up changing both but on the ride home from the shop the light came on again and the car started to feel like it was bogged down. I had a friend follow me to see if he saw anything from the rear. He said it looked like my left muffler tips were getting red. When i stopped to check them i saw the left muffler was slightly discolored due to extreme heat while the right muffler was barely hot. Please help.
By the way, you need to park it until it is fixed. If the muffler has been heat discolored just imagine how hot the cat has been. You really don't need a fire under your feet, that could get really messy.
I called my local dealer to order some new OEM cats and he told me there are no passenger side cats in the GM supply system and they are no longer being manufactured. He said i could order a driver side cat at the cost of over $900, can you believe that? I might as well invest in revamping my entire exhaust system.
