They are attempting to re-instate that in Arizona because of the popularity of photo-radar, but I will take
a chance on a ticket before I put a front plate on my car....
Given the choices of with or without a cover though, I would go without....
It looks better with the front cover. But, you can't win if the state requires a front plate. They make a fold down plate holder for the C6, but I've never seen one for a C4. I wonder if some smart fellow could rig something up that mounted under the car (C4) and could fold out to properly display the plate, then easily fold away when you wanted a stock appearance? Someone might make a dollar or two.
COVER! The law requires a plate in VA, but I have yet to be stopped for it. Also, I've gotten a ticket in the vette, and the officer had a front-view of my car, and didn't say anything. Just don't rob banks in it and you're fine...

The front plate is required in NJ, but I have mine under the front cover. I've never been stopped for it. If I am stopped I'll tell him I was at a car show over the weekend and just forgot to remove the cover after the show. (worth a try). The only time the cover is off is when I take the car for inspection every two years.
ticket or no ticket is the question...if it's required in your state. I like it better without, but here in MN, need a front plate. don't need anymore reason for an office to pull me over.

Thats what I did on my 86 and that was the excuse I was going to use. I think the front plate looked "ok" with the chrome frame, but the car looks much better with the cover, so for now, I am going to live life on the edge......
Cover. Here in texas a front plate is also required. I am the third owner of my 94 which has been registered in texas since day one and it has NEVER had a front plate. To my knowledge NO ONE has ever gotten a ticket for a missing plate. I did get a fixit ticket a few months ago for an expired inspection. Cost me $10 and the inspection. The inspection does NOT check for missing plates.
My 03 suburban also does NOT have a front plate on it and never had a problem either.
Quite a few states don't require front plates, so what is the big deal about having to display 2 plates on the car? You paid your yearly registration and taxes.
I was just asking an off-duty cop who is also a Vette driver about this last night. He said that unless someone was blatantly doing something to attract attention, he pays no attention. He also runs without a front plate.
