Default Throttle Question

I went to test drive an 85' yesterday. It's ugly, but it runs perfect. A good project. One thing is, the pedal was very hard. It was stiff, and hard to take off smoothly. Whereas the C5 i drove it eased in, when you hit the gas in this, it jumps.

Could just be that the throttle cable needs lubed. Also, the shaft mounts in the Throttle Body itself could be worn and elongated, causing the throttle plates to bind on the TB wall. This normally surfaces as an idle problem; the idle will sit around 1000-1500rpm, but if you blip the throttle, it will settle down to normal. Hopefully the cable just needs a little lubrication

Ok good to hear, it seemed to idle around 950, then after i finished driving it, it was down to ~700.

Either way, if it's an easy fix I'm gonna try to buy it, I love C4's. They feel so much better than C5's imo.

I concur! Race car vs Touring car feel, IMHO. Good luck on your purchase!
