Default I knew it would be something....

I'm finally getting around to getting my car on the road.
The windshield was cracked so I took the old one out myself. No big deal, I used to do this kinda stuff all the time with my body shop.
I pulled the old weather strip from around the glass, and of course it literally turned to dust. I noticed that because I have crossed flags on the front of this car, it adds about 50% to all the prices for repair parts. I went to the glass shop expecting to get reamed for the new glass. The windshield in my '01 Ram pick up was $220, I can only imagine what glass for the 'Vette will cost. To my pleasant surprise, it was only $170! Ok, how much for the rubber strip that goes around windshield? $140.

Yeah, that figures. At first, they misunderstood when I said "moulding" and gave me the quote for the metal pieces that frame the glass. That only costs $540! The roof better not leak after this!

I should mention here that there was a problem with the title and I end up having to pay tax on it twice somehow. The DMV tried to explain it, but it was giving me a headache. Bottom line is, I have to spend about $600 just to transfer the title.

Anybody else having this much fun getting their car on the road?
