Default Air Tools

I bought a compressor last weekend and it came with an impact gun and an air ratchet. I know that the impact requires special sockets, but I thought that I would be able to use my regular sockets on the air ratchet...this is gonna get really expensive if I need all new sockets...

No problem with your regular sockets on the ratchet, been using them on air ratchet for over 30 years. As far as the impact gun you really should use impact sockets.

I have an air ratchet and LOVE IT! Don't know how I survived with out one. I can do without the impact gun (or so I think), it's too big for most of the stuff I work on.

You can get a good quality impact socket either short or long sockets from Harbor Freight at a good price. The socket quality is good, I just never buy any of their electrical stuff.

What makes you think you can't use a regular socket with the ratchet?

I suspect the impact wrench that came with the compressor is not a particularly high torque model. If you get tempted to use your existing sockets with it, be sure to use 6-point sockets. The 12-pont sockets would likely round off whatever your working on.
