I put drag radials on the rears and had the fronts narrowed down to 6" wide to run some 185/60 16's for the track

I put year 2000 C5 rims on my 86. I kept the 86 rims and tires for 1 year until I figured that a) they were taking up too much room in my garage, and b)I would not be putting them back on the car. So I sold them on Craigslist for $200. They were gone in 3 days.

My Vette's stock Sawblades were battle-scarred when I got the car. The wife-unit bought me a set of ZR-1 wheels and a new set of tires. The old tires were totally bald on the rear, the front's had some tread left. I moved away from the staggered configuration and placed 17 X 9.5's on the front and rear.

I still have the original sawblades sitting in the garage. They're really scarred and pitted - probably not worth selling. I'll probably run into another Vette owner in the general area and give them to him/her if they're needed.

I keep em not to go back to stock, but because I can't throw anything out. I mean, what if armageddon comes and the only thing you can use to McGyver your home defense catapult is a 17" sawblade?

You'd be cursing eBay that day, let me tell you!

In all seriousness though, I can't bear to let used parts go. I even have the orginal full exhaust system (and I've moved TWICE - including cross country) from when I replaced the stock mufflers ten+ years ago.

Stock rims, stock airbox, stock pulleys, Optispark, stock brake rotors and calipers...anything and everything I've replaced that wasn't a wear and tear item I've kept.

I replaced my sun baked 88 wheels with chrome 90 wheels. So I emailed the wheelwarehouse, and they bought my 88 wheels for $200.00. They even paid for the shipping via UPS and mailed me the shipping labels. Three wheels where excellent, one had very minor curb rash. All of them had the clearcoat burned off from the hot SC sun. Now don't act to soon yet. They recieved the wheels on May 5th, mailed me a check on the 22nd, which I never recieved. They did give me the check number, so I don't really doubt them to much. Now they are going to void the original check, and issue me a new one. We will see, and I will let you know what happens next.

I bet most people will keep them in the shed for about 50 years after they sold the vette, and then throw them away. =)

I have five 92 sawblades over head in the garage. 3 left side (one dinged) and two right side. They'll go with the car if I ever sell it.

When I bought my Coddington wheels for my Z, I boxed up the OEM ZR-1 wheels and put them away. I understand they are now worth a small fortune.

My 87 turbines were not in good shape so I sold them for scrap $80.00. My opinion but up-dating older C4 rims is a great new look on the car.
