Its no big deal, Tap the gas a little and let the rear wheels do the turning.
I see you found "the secret" to U-turning...it's that or pull the swift "granny reverse" & drop it into rev into oncoming traffic. You should see a C3!!!
i think GM did that on purpose to force you to whip the tail around. I think these cars are begging for it, and every time you do it, it give you a big shot of adrenaline like its begging for you to do it again.
My 86 has a very bad turning radius. I know its limits and usually plan for a 3 point turn. My C3's have a tighter/better turning radius than the 86 has.
Weird. I've never noticed. I just never figured it would turn like my Focus because it's a bigger car. Besides that, it goes straight at 3 times the speed limit so I'll cut it some slack.
Considering that the nose of a C4 is half the length of the car, it's understandable that a 3 point U-turn takes a lot of space.
But yeah, I was surprised at the exaggerated amount of real estate that my '95 takes to make a U-turn the first time I did one. Now I do it like you guys say - turn off the traction control, whip into the turn and goose the accelerator as I'm going into the turn. That takes out at least half the area the car needs with a "granny turn".
BTW, this action is not advisable to be done with LEO's in the general area...
