tech tip: cleaning exhaust tips
I have posted several inquiries about what to use for cleaning exhaust tips, mine get really sooty fast. Nothing seemed to work, at least not easily. I would have to use some strong gel degreaser and a tooth brush, lots of paper towels, would take about an hour, and they would just be OK.
I cleaned my TB recently and purchased some TB/carb cleaner.
I said what the heck, same kind of deposits, I'll try it on the tips.
BAM!, one squirt and it rolls off shinny as new!! Just wipe off with a paper towel. Polish with NeverDull afterwards.
*Just don't get it on your paint of course!*

Spray on oven cleaner also cleans the carbon deposits off real fast.
