Hello everyone, I just bought my first corvette, a 1995 white coupe, and I have a few questions about some small maintenance issues. First off, the rubber molding the the rear hatch closes down onto was peeling off and needed to be cleaned and reglued. I am wondering what would be best to glue the molding back down.
Also, I am wondering how to change the battery in the car. The battery is more concealed/covered then on my other cars, and I want to know what I need to do to get to it without damaging anything. Thanks alot for any help!
I would suggest getting a new rear hatch weather strip. The battery is not that difficult to get to, if you look into the fender well at the front of the panel you will see three tx screws they have to be removed. Next there is one screw at the back top of the panel that needs to be removed, the final bolt to be removed is at the bottom of the panel, there is a separation at the bottom that you slide your wrench into. I think it a 8mm bolt, just unscrew it, it will stay in the panel when you remove the panel. To install the panel just reverse the above procedure, making sure the panel is lined up and check the clearance between the door and the panel when you open the door.
