Hey everyone. I just bought a replacement steering wheel from E bay for 175.00. Now here is the issue. The wheel looks good, but the leather on the wheel is softer, has a different texture and is a flatter shade than the original. This makes the horn button look way out of place. I will post pics later, but I am wondering if anyone has used this wheel or used a dye / paint for the horn button.
I got the same wheel, looks OK to me. No one but you will notice. For double the $175.00 you could have a NOS wheel. Ask yourself, is it worth it? Is your car a DD or a show car?

Its a driver and yes i agree. 300 + for a wheel is crazy. Thats why I got the e bay one. Have you dyed your cap or just left it be? I think if i use a flat or semi flat spray it might work.
It is amazing what you notice on your car that no one ever will!!!!
I got the same wheel and although the quality seems good it does not match the original horn button. Your horn button looks to be in the same condition as mine and I will be buying a new one right away.
Get yourself some black paste shoe polish and put it on the center cap, then buff it off , you won't believe how much it will cover the bad spots and improve the looks . I bet you won't need to replace it...WW

My button looked like yours. I pulled off the emblem and painted it with vinyl and fabric paint. Not sure it shows up well here but I bet its a lot closer match to your wheel than it used to be. You can still see the small holes and deep scratches but I like it a lot better. Just trying to keep busy while the car is at the paint shop!
Dupli-color vinyl and fabric paint - hvp106 flat black. Picked up up at Advance Auto Part. I cleaned the button with rubbing alcohol then sprayed it. Let it dry and sprayed it again,
